I made a serious attempt to do what I thought everyone else was doing and make the gym part of my routine. There are many tv ads showing regular people becoming god and goddesses only because they attended gym regularly. Staying at home to work out and stay fit has proved to be the best thing my very intelligent friend suggested to change my life.
You hate the gym, you love your house, you want to be fit, you have a spare room and there is such great fitness equipment on sale. Its a no-brainer, right? Thats why hes my smartest friend. I started researching the best home gyms for staying fit and home, and I found there were so many great options. Why hadnt I thought of this? Oh, well, it didnt matter. I promised myself that I would actually use the equipment to get in shape, at home, not to just collect dust. I was amazed how many fitness equipment stores there were. I guess I had never noticed because I only thought about the gym for fitness.
The stores had such a variety of equipment, and the staffs couldnt have been more knowledgeable (or fitter). I wasnt a pioneer in home gym fitness; folks were using fitness equipment at home a long time before before me. But, it didnt take away from my excitement. I started with a recumbent bike.
When I had tried one before, it showed major promise for solving my back problem permanently. After that, I was ready to try a treadmill. I reminded myself that it was not a very good place to pile clothes. Then I decided to start with two pieces of equipment. Not only did I get a good buy, but I realized I could save a fortune on exercise clothes, since I could buy what I liked, not just clothes to keep up with all the others at the gym. This was going to be fun.
Having an equipped home gym will keep you motivated to exercise. My challenge was compounded by the fact that those helpful people at the fitness equipment stores where I bought the equipment called to encourage me, see if I had any questions and see what else I might need. I carefully prepared for my first workout: I bought a special water bottle, a rack for the treadmill to hold a book , and a heart monitor.
That only wasted a few minutes. A year later, Ive never been fitter or prouder of myself. My home gym is great since I can exercise on my own time, but the trainer in me wonders if I need to push myself more. I am.
